A project in collaboration with the owner/designer making a new retail counter piece for a gallery. The metal work was complete and Blue Root got in with some design and color suggestions to complete all the wood dressings to provide function and look. To save time and cost, rather than a dado joint, and rather than nails, I used a Domino loose tenon and mortise all glued up. Full dado support on the bottom:

The top display counter base does not sit fully on the metal. So I wanted the edge banding to have some support, or maybe another excuse to use more Dominos..

The curve template from the metal guy had some wavy bits. So I wrapped it with a piece of metal so my cut line was nice and smooth:
